3. Estimates & Quotes
All quotes provided by UCC Security are estimates only and are subject to change based on site inspection, material costs, or changes in the scope of work requested by the Client.
An estimate does not constitute a binding contract until it is formally accepted by the Client.
Upon acceptance of an estimate, it will automatically convert into a binding Invoice and Agreement subject to these Terms.
4. Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing by UCC Security, the following payment terms apply to all projects:
Deposit: A non-refundable initial deposit of 50% of the total estimated project cost is required upon acceptance to schedule the work and order materials.
Balance: The remaining 50% balance is due in full immediately upon completion of the installation or service delivery.
Method of Payment: Payments can be made via Interac e-Transfer to [email protected].
Late Payments: Accounts past due may be subject to a service charge of 2% per month (24% per annum) or the maximum allowed by Alberta law.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Client Cancellation: If you wish to cancel a scheduled installation or service, you must provide at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in a forfeiture of a portion of the deposit to cover administrative and mobilization costs.
Weather Delays: For drone services (Crop Analysis and Surveillance) and outdoor installations, we reserve the right to reschedule without penalty in the event of inclement weather (high winds, rain, snow) that poses a safety risk or hinders data quality.
6. Warranties & Liability
Workmanship Warranty: UCC Security warrants that all installation work will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner. We provide a 1-year warranty on workmanship from the date of completion.
Equipment Warranty: Hardware (cameras, sensors, drones) is subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms. UCC Security acts as a facilitator for these warranties but does not directly warrant the manufacturing of third-party equipment.
Limitation of Liability: While UCC Security utilizes advanced technology to protect your property, we do not guarantee that our services will prevent all theft, vandalism, loss, or crop failure. To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law, UCC Security shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the failure of equipment, monitoring delays, or data analysis errors.
7. Data Privacy & Surveillance Compliance (CCTV & Drones)
Client Responsibility: The Client acknowledges that they are the "controller" of any surveillance data collected on their property. It is the Client's responsibility to ensure that the use of CCTV and Drone surveillance complies with all applicable privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of Alberta.
Drone Flight Regulations: All drone operations conducted by UCC Security are performed in accordance with Transport Canada regulations. We will not fly over adjacent private properties or restricted airspace without proper authorization.
8. Crop Analysis Services
Data Accuracy: Drone crop analysis reports are intended to support agricultural management decisions. While we utilize high-resolution multispectral sensors, these reports are estimates based on data sampling and should not be the sole basis for critical financial or insurance decisions.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Edmonton, Alberta.
